Shirley Yu is an illustrator and fiber artist based in Brooklyn, New York. She created shirleydesignsthings as a way to share her colorful and whimsical artwork. Items are crafted, designed, and shipped out from her apartment. Sustainability is an important aspect in her craft: all items are packaged with 100% recyclable materials. For crocheted artwork, yarn is often made of natural fibers or sourced secondhand. For upcycled clothing, all clothes are found secondhand.  Shirley's goal is to share happiness and joy through her artwork. 

Shirley grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended college at the University of Southern California where she got her degree in graphic design. She currently lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.
